Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. I get the following error message when I run the game:

A. The app isn’t running because the latest versions of Java require applets to have a security certificate. Ours hasn’t been recompiled in a few years, and doesn’t have one yet (we’re working on it).

In the meantime, to allow our app to run, change the default Java security settings on the Java Console. In Windows, click “Start”, “All Programs”, and “Java”, then run the “Configure Java” application. On the Java Control Panel select the “Security” tab, then “Edit Site List” for the Exception List. Add “” as an exception, and Save or Apply all the changes.

The next time you run the app it will ask you to confirm the security exception. Approve it, and the game should run without error.

Q. I still can’t get the game to load, or the game starts with an error. What do I do?
A. Try the following steps before contacting for support:

  1. Make sure you have the latest Java runtime plugin for your browser. The Java runtime can be downloaded from
  2. Try clearing your browser cache.
  3. Internet Explorer in particular seems to have issues with Java applets. If you are using IE8 or IE9, try a different browser like Firefox (, Chrome (, or Opera (

Q: When I click on the game to answer a question, nothing happens.
A: The game does not currently support mouse clicks, except when selecting options. Use the keyboard to “buzz in” (multi-player games only) and to select the correct answer or answers for each question.
